| "One-Ball Rule" In Effect | NOTE! THE OPTIONAL CONDITIONS AS PRESCRIBED IN APPENDIX I, PART C-1(a) & (b) OF THE 2008-2009 USGA RULES OF GOLF BOOK SHALL BE IN EFFECT! DURING A STIPULATED ROUND, THE BALL(S) A PLAYER USES MUST BE OF THE SAME BRAND AND TYPE AS DETAILED BY A SINGLE ENTRY ON THE MOST CURRENT LIST OF CONFORMING GOLF BALLS. |
| CADDIE/CART INFORMATION | PLAYERS MUST WALK AT ALL TIMES DURING THE STIPULATED ROUND. Players may carry their own clubs or bring their own caddie. A golf cart may be used to carry clubs ONLY, AND a driver must be provided AND is considered to be the players caddie. A player may not ride in cart once play has officially begun, or use it for surveying purposes. A Cart is part of players equipment. Contestants should be aware of the fact that, because of the time of the year, Blue Mound Golf & Country Club will NOT have ANY club caddies available for contestants. Those players that wish to use a caddie must bring their own caddie. |
| Deadline for Entries | All entries for the 2008 USGA U.S. Open Championship MUST be received AT THE OFFICES OF THE USGA by no later than 5:00 P.M. EASTERN TIME (4:00 P.M. CENTRAL TIME) on Wednesday, APRIL 23, 2008. Players wishing to enter the 2008 USGA U.S. Open Championship may do so by clicking on the section of this website entitled "Related Websites" and then clicking on "U.S. Open Championship Entry Blank." Once there a player can either download a paper entry blank (which MUST be mailed to the USGA offices) OR may enter on-line using a major credit card as the form of payment. |
| Electronic Measuring Devices | The use of an ELECTRONIC MEASURING DEVICE is NOT permitted in ANY portion of ANY USGA Championship or Qualifying round. |
| Format of Competition | The competition will be 18 holes Stroke Play at BLUE MOUND GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB in Wauwatosa, WI. The number of qualifying spots allocated to this Local qualifying district will be determined by the USGA and will be posted on the website when that information becomes available. In addition, we will determine two (2) Alternates. A playoff to determine the final qualifying Spot(s) and/or alternate spot(s) will be held immediately upon completion of the 18-Hole Stroke Play qualifying round on a hole-by-hole basis. |

| Number of Qualifying Spots | For 2008, the USGA has established the number of qualifying spots for the Wisconsin Local Qualifying site at Blue Mound G & CC to be SIX (6) spots. For 2007, the USGA established that there was 5 (five)qualifying spots available for the 72 players that attempted to qualify for Wisconsin's U.S. Open Local qualifying site, North Shore Country Club in Mequon, WI. The USGA established the number of qualifying spots available to the 71 players trying to qualify for the 2006 USGA U.S. OPEN LOCAL QUALIFYING at Washington County GC on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 to be five (5) spots. The USGA established the number of qualifying spots available to the 120 players trying to qualify for the 2005 USGA U.S. OPEN LOCAL QUALIFYING at The Bull at Pinehurst Farms (Sheboygan Falls) on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 to be EIGHT (8). In addition, we determined two (2) ALTERNATES. |
| Practice Round Information | Contestants in the 2008 USGA U.S. OPEN Local Qualifying at BLUE MOUND G & CC should call the pro shop at BLUE MOUND G & CC at (414) 258-4870 to inquire about making arrangements for a practice round. Contestants in the 2008 USGA U.S. Open Local Qualifying at Blue Mound Golf & Country Club in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin may play one and only one practice round for the special rate of $50.00 (ONLY CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED!). Beginning Tuesday, May 6th, contestants may play one (1) practice round any day Tuesday, May 6th through Sunday, May 11th AFTER 3:00 P.M. any of those days. There will be three tee times each of these days (3:00 P.M., 3:10 P.M. and 3:20 P.M.) for contestants (12 people per day). On Monday, May 12th, a limited number of contestants that have not yet played a practice round will be able to play AFTER 2:00 P.M. CONTESTANTS MUST MAKE A TEE TIME IN ADVANCE OR THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY. Only contestants will be allowed to play. Contestants WILL be allowed to bring their own caddie, but the caddie may NOT play during the practice round. Carts will also NOT be available during the practice round. The practice range will not be available to players during practice round days.
