WSGA State Senior Amateur Championship

The field will close at 208 acceptable entries or 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 7th, 2008.   Late, incomplete or phone entries are not acceptable. FAX entries are acceptable ONLY if using a credit card as method of payment.

The practice range at RACINE CC will open at 6:30 A.M. for contestants in the 2008 WSGA State Senior Amateur Championship.

Range balls will be complimentary for contestants, but ONLY prior to their round.

CONTESTANTS SHOULD ALSO NOTE THAT THE PRACTICE RANGE AT RACINE CC IS A CONSIDERABLE DISTANCE FROM THE PRO SHOP/CLUBHOUSE AREA AND, THEREFORE, CONTESTANTS SHOULD ALLOW FOR EXTRA TIME IN GETTING TO / FROM THE PRACTICE RANGE.   A SHUTTLE WILL BE PROVIDED TO CONTESTANTS TO GET THEM TO / FROM THE PRACTICE RANGE.   CONTESTANTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE GOLF CARTS TO / FROM THE PRACTICE RANGE!

All contestants MUST register at the WSGA Registration tent at RACINE CC NO LATER THAN 7:30 A.M. for the morning SHOTGUN START or 1:00 P.M. for the afternoon SHOTGUN START.

Important tournament information and tournament gifts will be handed out at the Tournament Registration tent.

MORNING STARTERS:
Contestants playing in the morning will be given final announcements regarding the event and then proceed to their respective starting holes from 7:35 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. Those players playing in the morning will begin play at 7:45 a.m. using a shotgun start. Those players playing in the morning MUST be at their starting tees AND READY TO PLAY by 7:45 a.m.

AFTERNOON STARTERS:
Contestants playing in the AFTERNOON will be given final announcements regarding the event and then proceed to their respective starting holes from 1:05 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. Those players playing in the AFTERNOON will begin play at 1:15 p.m. using a shotgun start. Those players playing in the AFTERNOON MUST be at their starting tees AND READY TO PLAY by 1:15 a.m.

Contestants in the 2008 WSGA State Senior Amateur Championship will play their 1st round (18 holes) either in the morning (7:45 A.M. Shotgun Start) or in the afternoon (1:15 P.M. Shotgun Start).

Lunch will be made available in the clubhouse at RACINE COUNTRY CLUB for contestants in the 2008 WSGA Senior Amateur Championship.

Contestants MUST pay for their own lunches.    Lunch is NOT included in a players entry fee.

There will be a Cocktail Hour at RACINE COUNTRY CLUB for contestants in the 2008 WSGA Senior Amateur Championship.

Contestants MUST pay for their own drinks.     Complimentary Hors D'ouevres will be served during this Cocktail Hour.

ALL contestants in the 2008 WSGA Senior Amateur Championship are invited to attend the Contestants Dinner, to be held Monday night at 7:00 P.M. at the RACINE COUNTRY CLUB.

The cost of the Contestants Dinner IS INCLUDED in the players entry fee.

NOTE:    Be sure to indicate on your entry AND WHEN REGISTERING at the tournament site as to whether or not you will attend this Contestants Dinner.

Contestants in the 2008 WSGA State Senior Amateur Championship will play their 2nd (Final) round (18 holes) either in the morning (7:45 A.M. Shotgun Start) or in the afternoon (1:15 P.M. Shotgun Start).  

The HIGHER half of the field based on 1st Round GROSS scores will play in the morning.

The LOWER half of the field based on 1st Round GROSS scores will play in the afternoon.

Lunch will be made available in the clubhouse at RACINE COUNTRY CLUB for contestants in the 2008 WSGA Senior Amateur Championship.

Contestants MUST pay for their own lunches.    Lunch is NOT included in a players entry fee.

A brief awards ceremony will take place honoring the 2008 WSGA State Senior Amateur champion and State Senior Amateur Net champion, as well as age division winners.

Low gross and low net prizes and trophies will be awarded in the following three age groups: SENIORS (55-62), SUPER-SENIORS (63-69), and LEGENDS (70 & OLDER).

In the event of ties in age divisions, a scorecard play-off method will be used, except in case of a tie for the low gross which will be decided by a on course play-off immediately upon completion of play.
