Travis Meyer of River Falls Golf Club and his partner, Braden Mork of Chippewa Valley Golf Club won the 2008 WSGA State BestBall (Four-Ball) Championship at Hidden Glen at Bentdale Farms on the first extra hole (the 19th hole of the match) when Meyer's approach shot to the green set up an easy tap-in birdie. The birdie lifted the pair to victory over Jeff Berenz and Mark Klapperich of Whispering Springs Golf Course, who parred the hole.
It was the second WSGA State Bestball Championship for Meyer, having won with Neil Johnson in 2004. Meyer was also the Wisconsin State Amateur champion last year (2007) at Bristlecone Pines GC. This was Mork's first state championship. |
