"One-Ball Rule" In Effect

NOTE! THE OPTIONAL CONDITIONS AS PRESCRIBED IN APPENDIX I, PART C-1(b) & (c) OF THE 2008-2009 USGA RULES OF GOLF BOOK SHALL BE IN EFFECT!

THE BALL A PLAYER USES SHALL BE NAMED ON THE CURRENT LIST OF CONFORMING GOLF BALLS ISSUED BY THE USGA.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF RULE:    DISQUALIFICATION

 

THE SO-CALLED "ONE-BALL" RULE WILL BE IN EFFECT AT THE 2008 USGA U.S. SENIOR OPEN SECTIONAL QUALIFYING.

DURING A STIPULATED ROUND, THE BALL(S) A PLAYER USES MUST BE OF THE SAME BRAND AND MODEL AS DETAILED BY A SINGLE ENTRY ON THE MOST CURRENT LIST OF CONFORMING GOLF BALLS.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF RULE:    2 (TWO) STROKES FOR EACH HOLE WHERE VIOLATION OCCURS. MAXIMUM PENALTY PER ROUND IS 4 (FOUR) STROKES.

Caddie/Cart Information

PLAYERS MUST WALK AT ALL TIMES DURING THE STIPULATED ROUND.   Players may carry their own clubs or use a caddie.    A golf cart may be used to carry clubs ONLY, AND a driver must be provided AND is considered to be the players caddie.     A player may not ride in cart once play has officially begun, or use it for surveying purposes. A Cart is part of players equipment.

Players wishing to reserve a CADDIE and/or a cart FOR THEIR CADDIE from THE CLUB at STRAWBERRY CREEK SHOULD CALL THE PRO SHOP AT 1-262-857-8400.

Those players, whose caddie would like to use a motorized cart should know that cart use on the THE CLUB at STRAWBERRY CREEK MAY BE limited to "CART PATHS ONLY" or other cart use limitations in the event weather conditions would cause such a limitation.

Deadline for Entries

All entries for the 2008 USGA U.S. Senior Open Championship MUST be received AT THE OFFICES OF THE USGA by no later than 5:00 P.M. EASTERN TIME (4:00 P.M. CENTRAL TIME) on Wednesday, JUNE 11, 2008.  

Players wishing to enter the 2008 USGA U.S. Senior Open Championship may do so by clicking on the section of this website entitled "Related Websites" and then clicking on "U.S. Senior Open Championship Entry Blank."    Once there a player can either download a paper entry blank (which MUST be mailed to the USGA offices) OR may enter on-line using a major credit card as the form of payment.

Electronic Measuring Devices

The use of an ELECTRONIC MEASURING DEVICE is NOT permitted in ANY portion of ANY USGA Championship or Qualifying round.

Format of Competition

The competition will be 18 holes Stroke Play at the THE CLUB at STRAWBERRY CREEK.   The number of qualifying spots allocated to this Local qualifying district will be posted on this Tournament Information page when the USGA makes that information available.

A playoff to determine the final qualifying Spot(s) and/or alternate spot(s) will be held immediately upon completion of the 18-Hole Stroke Play qualifying round on a hole-by-hole basis.

Number of Qualifying Spots

The USGA has NOT YET determined the number of qualifying spots available to those trying to qualify for the 2008 USGA U.S. Senior Open at THE CLUB at STRAWBERRY CREEK on Tuesday, July 1, 2008.   We will also determine at least 2 (Two) Alternates.

Practice Round Information

Contestants in the 2008 USGA U.S. SENIOR OPEN QUALIFYING should contact the pro shop at THE CLUB at STRAWBERRY CREEK at 1-262-857-8400 to make arrangements for a practice round.

NOTE: Any fees for a practice round must be paid for by the contestants themselves.
